Stellenbosch and the surrounding wine regions have long been recognised as places worth celebrating. From beautiful vineyards that are planted in some of the oldest soils in the world, to the avenues of oak trees that line the streets of the second oldest town in South Africa. Stellies - as it's affectionately known is a university town as well with 29,000 students and still growing!
Franchhoek
There was not any wine farms around in 1688 when the Dutch granted the refugees land there and the valley was called Olifantshoek (Elephants corner)
The name later changed to Le Coin Francais (the French corner) and then to Franschhoek(Dutch)
This jewel in the wine lands is encircled almost entirely by scenic mountains,
And as you drive through you will see the wine farms named after of the areas in France for which the original settlers came from.
Today Franschhoek has breathtaking natural beauty, wineries,resturants and a country life style.

Waterford Estate Stellenbosch
Waterford Estate is situated in one of the world's most visually arresting pockets of paradise. Nestled in the picturesque Blaauwklippen Valley, in the world-renowned Stellenbosch region, this 120-hectare property boasts ancient citrus groves, rolling lawns, water features and fragrant lavender beds.
Here we will have the wine and Chocolate experience 3 Wines paired with Von Geusau fine Chocolates.
Oldenburg Vineyards
Oldenburg Vineyards only handcraft small quantities of both red and white wines, using only grapes from our estate. Careful study of our soils, temperatures, wind variations and sunlight aspects led us to planting Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Syrah, Merlot, Chardonnay and Chenin Blanc, plus a few interesting blending varietals.Oldenburg is tucked away in the mountains in an area known as Banghoek. They have some of the finest terroir in South Africa, with some magnificent views, and a truly unique and beautiful setting.
Here we can taste up to 6 wines.
Haute Cabriere
The history of Haute Cabriere dates back to 22 December 1694 when the French Huguenot Pierre Jourdan, was granted a piece of land in Olifantshoek - today known as Franschhoek - which he decided to name after his home town, Cabriere Following the tradition of the famous French Champagne houses, Pierre planted the noble cultivars of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir to produce his first Champagne-equivalent, known in South Africa as Cap Classique, and named this wine in honour of the original pioneer, Pierre Jourdan.
Here the selection can be from 3 to 8 wines including MCC.
